Two Macaws worth Tk 8 lakh have been stolen from Gazipur Safari Park.
Rafiqul Islam, acting-in-charge of the park, said that two green wing Macaws were stolen from the park area on Friday.
The thieves stole the Macaws after cutting the fence, he said.
However, the local forest department rescued one Macaw on Saturday during a drive at Tongi Bazar, he added.
Raju Ahmed, wild life inspector of the park, lodged a general diary in this regard.
Currently, there are 27 Macaws in the park.
