
Six students of different departments of Dhaka University under 2022-2023 academic year received Nurul Islam Memorial Trust Fund Scholarship for their good behaviour, regular attendance in class and good results in exams.
University vice-chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmad Khan attended a function as the chief guest at the Dhaka University Class IV Employees Union office on Monday evening and handed over the scholarship check to the students. Dhaka University Class IV Employees Union organised this scholarship event.
Vice-chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan, paying deep respect to the memory of Md Nurul Islam, said that he fought all in his life to establish a non-discrimination and humane society.
The late Md Nurul Islam was the founder president of Dhaka University Class IV Employees Union.
University treasurer Professor Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury presided over the ceremony, pro-vice chancellor (administration) Professor Saima Haque Bidisha and registrar Munsi Shams Uddin Ahmed spoke as special guests.
Dhaka University Class IV Employees Union president Shahjahan gave a welcome speech and general secretary Md Salim Mia moderated the programme, said a press release.
The recipients of the scholarship are 2nd-year student of Bangla department Md Mehedi Hasan, 1st-year student of Finance Department Md Kalim Ullah, 2nd-year student of Organisation Strategy and Leadership Department Sumaiya Rahman, Economics Department 1st-year student Sabiha Alam Raika and 2nd- year student Rumana Alam Nishi and 1st-year student of Political Science Department Md Al Momineen Hasan.
