A mobile court on Wednesday demolished two lead factories illegally established on forestland at Sagardighi of Ghatail in Tangail.
Executive magistrate and Ghatail upazila nirbahi officer Kishore Kumar Das said that the mobile court was conducted after being informed about the presence of two lead factories inside the forest.
He said that the mobile court could not fine or arrest anyone as nobody was on the spot during the drives.
The Department of Environment officials said that the lead factories at Malirchal and Aambagan were destroyed by excavator as they were recycling lead.
DoE deputy director Miah Mahmudul Haque and a number of police members, among others, were present during the drive.
