The Jagannath University has appointed a sister of its martyred student in the recent student-led uprising that ousted Sheikh Hasina as prime minister and fled to India on August 5.
Farzana Haque, sister of Ikramul Haque Sajid, an accounting and information systems student of the university, was appointed as junior programmer at the university on Sunday.
Sajid was severely injured by police in the movement, and later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the Combined Military Hospital.
