Bangladesh Civil Service job aspirants who passed the 46th BCS preliminary examination demanded a schedule for written examinations.

Several of them gathered at Dhaka University Journalists’ Association and held a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

Sohag Hossain, a former Dhaka University student, read a statement on behalf of the group under the banner of ‘Candidates Who Passed the 46th BCS Preliminary Exams’.

He expressed the candidates’ frustration over the five-month delay since the preliminary results were announced.

He said, ‘We worked hard to reach this point, facing numerous challenges along the way. Some of us got prepared for the examination despite pregnancies, while some others left secure jobs, and some even turned down other government positions for new opportunities.’

The candidates said that if allegations against Public Service Commission employees, reported in the media, were found to be true, those involved should be held accountable under Section 164.

They stated that they hoped no hardworking, honest candidates would suffer in this new Bangladesh.

They also welcomed further investigation in this regard for the sake of transparency.

The group concluded its programme by urging the Bangladesh Public Service Commission to take immediate steps to schedule the 46th BCS written exam without further delay.
