
United International University has recently launched its flagship startup business plan competition and innovation cohort, said a press release on Thursday.Â
The programme is facilitated by the UIU and the University Innovation Hub Programme of Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Development Project under the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority with support from The World Bank.
Professor Md Abul Kashem Mia, vice-chancellor of the UIU, was present as chief guest, while Abul Fatah Md Baligur Rahman, project director at the DEIED, BHTPA was present as special guest at the program.
Among others, Professor Khondaker Abdullah Al Mamun, director of the UIU’s Institute of Research, Innovation, Incubation and Commercialisation, Kishwar Hashemee, co-founder of Mitro and Kludio, Tanvirul Islam, founder of Elevate Pay, Shehaan Rahman, founder of Antopolis and Md Refayed Chowdhury, CEO and co-founder of WiserGates, spoke at the program.
Under the LaunchPad programme, the UIU and the UIHP organised a dissemination Town-Hall where 500+ students from various universities attended to know more about the competition.
Abul Kashem Mia stated, ‘This initiative reinforces the UIU’s commitment to nurturing young minds to think innovatively and contribute to the growth of our nation’s economy.’
At its first round, LaunchPad by UIHP@UIU made a nationwide call for startup business plan submission on its online portal by October 15.
