The Career and Placement Centre of North South University on Tuesday in Dhaka hosted the student work placement programme in collaboration with the HSBC Bangladesh to empower future banking leaders.

This initiative is designed to provide the NSU students hands-on experience in the banking world, helping them bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry practice, said a press release.

Director of the CPC, Professor Mohammad Khasro Miah, said, ‘This partnership is a significant milestone in equipping our students with the practical skills needed to excel in their careers.’

Newaz Musharraf, the HSBC Bangladesh’s country head of global payment solutions attended the event as chief guest. He emphasised the importance of investing in youth talent. ‘Investing in youth talent is an investment in the nation’s future. Through this program, we aim to shape the next generation of leaders in banking.’

The event was attended by key representatives from HSBC Bangladesh, including senior vice-president Sabin Rahman, and officer of talent acquisition and human resources Tanzid Samad Choudhury.

During the event, the top five scorers from an interactive quiz were directly shortlisted for the values assessment round, leading to selections for internships at HSBC. Selected students will engage in practical training, tackle real-time business challenges, and develop essential competencies critical to their long-term career success.
