
The first inter-hall women’s debate competition was held at Aparajita’ 24 hall of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, said a press release on Sunday.Â
Inaugurated by the Aparajita’ 24 hall provost Professor Tahmina Akhter, 10 debate teams from Begum Rokeya Hall Debating Society, Begum Syedunnesa Hall and Aparajita 24 Hall participated in the debate.
The Team Forbearing was the champion while the Team Nirbhik was the runner-up, and Maryam Jamila was selected as the best debater in the competition. The topic of debate in the final phase was ‘This parliament thinks that the student uprising of 24 will build a new Bangladesh’.
The SAU vice-chancellor Professor Md Abdul Latif was present as chief guest, while Student Counselling and Guidance director Md Rashedul Islam, Begum Rokeya Hall provost Professor Noor Mahal Akter, Begum Syedunnesa Hall provost Professor Tahmina Mustarin, Sher-e-Bangla Hall provost Professor Abdul Latif, among others, were present at the event.
