Jahangirnagar University environmental sciences department students on Sunday staged a sit-in in front of the department, demanding punishment for a teacher of the department, Amir Hossain Bhuiyan, who is alleged to have sexually harassed several female students of the department.
The protesters said that Professor Amir Hossain used to make female students uncomfortable and try to intimate several of them.聽聽聽
A female student of the university鈥檚 2017-18 session alleged that Amir Hossain verbally abused her during a field tour of the department in Cox鈥檚 Bazer.
Amir Hossain also alleged giving less number to boys in examination papers than girls.
The protesters warned of going on hunger strike if the teacher would not be served exemplary punishment within a short possible of time.
Amir Hossain Bhuiyan could not be reached over the phone to get his comments.
