Jahangirnagar University鈥檚 environmental sciences department professor AKM Rashidul Alam has been appointed as proctor of the university.
He was appointed as the JU proctor on Tuesday.
Rashidul Alam has been assigned the role of proctor upon the written request of relieving the former proctor of the university associate professor Mohammad Rubel from the post.
The appointment was made for a provisional period, the office order stated further.
Earlier on August 6, Professor Alamgir Kabir quit from the posts of the JU proctor, and provost of the university鈥檚 Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Hall.
On August 7, the administration in a virtual syndicate meeting appointed management studies department associate professor Mohammad Rubel to the post.
Professor AKM Rashidul Alam expressed his desire to collaborate with all stakeholders irrespective of political affiliations.
