The 28th anniversary of the death of Professor Mohammed Noman, an eminent educationist and former vice-chancellor of Jahangirnagar University, will be observed today.

Family members of the late professor have arranged Khatme Qur’an and milad mahfil to mark the occasion in a befitting manner, said a press release.


Besides, food will be distributed in orphanages and among destitute while special prayer session will be offered at mosques.

Professor Noman Smriti Foundation has also chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the day.

Professor Noman is a recipient of ‘Ekushey Padak’ and President Gold Medal.

His relative, well-wishers, student and admirers have been requested to pray for the salvation of his departed soul.

Professor Mohammed Noman died on September 6 in 1996.
