Rajshahi Medical University vice-chancellor Professor AZM Mostaque Hossain resigned from his post on Tuesday amid students鈥� protests.
He submitted his resignation letter on Monday night to the senior secretary of the Medical Education and Family Welfare Division of the Health and Family Welfare Ministry, citing personal reasons.
Earlier on Monday, a group of students took position in front the university鈥檚 administrative building, demanding immediate resignation of VC Professor AZM Mostaque Hossain, his personal assistant Ismail Hossain, and section officer (public relation section) Zamal Uddin on charges of various irregularities and corruption.
However, neither Professor AZM Mostaque nor Ismail Hossain could聽 be reached for their comments despite repeated attempts over phone.
