Nine more bodies were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital raising the death toll to 151 till filing of this report at 6:00pm Wednesday since the forced resignation of Sheikh Hasina amid mass uprising triggered by student protests for quota reform in government jobs.

A clash between Bangladesh Awami League and Bangladesh Nationalist Party activists in Gangni upazila in Meherpur left one killed on Tuesday night.


At least five deceased were identified as law enforcers among the nine bodies taken to the Dhaka Medical mortuary on Wednesday, said a hospital official.

Three of them were Special Security Force personnel Abu Hasnat Roni, police personnel Khagendra Chandra and traffic police personnel Shahidul Alam, confirmed the relatives of the deceased, saying that they were killed on July 5 in violence in spots under the Uttara East police.

Two of the bodies are of Jatrabari police sub-inspector Sujan Chandra Dey and ansar personnel Abu Jafar.

Relatives of the deceased said they were also killed in July 5 violence in Jatrabari area.

The four other deceased were identified as Raju Ahmed, 35, Rezaul Karim, 52, Firoz Hossen, 48, and Sanjib Kumar Das, 30.

Their bodies were also collected from Jatrabari area.

In the Gangni incident, the deceased was identified as Naharul Islam, a resident of Motmura union in Meherpur, confirmed Motmura union parishad chairman Sohel Ahmed.
