The chairman of Mongla Port Authority Rear Admiral Shaheen Rahman inaugurated a tree planting campaign on the premises of its headquarters in Bagerhat on Monday, said a press release.
As part of the National Tree Plantation Programme-2024, Shaheen Rahman planted a mango sapling on the premise.
Remembering the founding president of the country, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the port chairman said that prime minister Sheikh Hasina took steps to create a green-adorned Bangladesh by inviting everyone to plant a tree.
鈥榃e, the Mongla Port Authority, are hopeful and committed to follow the path indicated by her,鈥� mentioned Shaheen Rahman.
He is also said that by planting tree saplings in the port, the port would play a important role in the construction of green Bangladesh and protection of the natural environment.
Captain Mohammed Kibria Haque, Member, Kazi Abed Hussain, AKM Anisur Rahman and Md. Nuruzzaman, among others, were present at the campaign.
