Leaders of the Sammilito Garments Sramik Federation on Tuesday at a press conference called on the government and garment factory owners to take steps to introduce rationing system for the garment workers, from where they could buy essential commodities in cheaper prices.

About 50 thousand apparel workers across the country are facing problems to run their families as prices of essential commodities increased much, said the SGSF central leader Ismet Zarin at the press conference at the National Press Club in the capital.


She called on the government to introduce rationing system for the garment workers from where they could buy essential commodities at cheaper prices.

She, moreover, demanded withdrawal of the cases filed against the workers during the movements of wage increase in the past year before the implementation of the wage board.

Central leaders of the organisation Abu Yusuf Mollah, Mamataj Begum, Khadeza Akter, among others, attended the press conference.
