
The North South University hosted its Summer semester orientation programme on Saturday, said a press release.Â
The Daily Observer editor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury was present as chief guest, the NSU board of trustees chairman Javed Muneer Ahmad attended as guest of honour and the NSU board of trustees member Seema Ahmad was present as special guest at the programme.
Chaired by the NSU treasurer and pro-vice-chancellor Professor Abdur Rob Khan, the NSU registrar Ahmed Tazmeen delivered welcome speech at the programme.
Javed Muneer Ahmad said, ‘Move forward positively and build upon the success you have already achieved.’
Abdur Rob Khan said, ‘Beyond the classroom, engage you fully in the academic and extracurricular activities to maximize your experience and growth.’
Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury said, ‘You are the future leaders of the country. You are fortunate enough to be a student at this university. NSU is maintaining its quality with its research-based quality education.’
Professor Sk Tawfique M Haque, dean of the school of humanities and social sciences, Professor Mohammad Sahadet Hossain, dean of the school of engineering and physical sciences, Professor Helal Ahammad, dean of the school of business and economics, and Professor Dipak Kumar Mitra, dean of the school of health and life sciences, introduced their respective schools.
Eighteen students were awarded merit-based 100 per cent scholarships for their remarkable performance on the undergraduate admission test.
