At least 15 people were killed and 38 others injured in road accidents in Noakhali, Faridpur, Dinajpur and Pabna between Thursday night and Friday.

抖阴精品 correspondent in Noakhali reported that two siblings died on the spot after their auto-rickshaw was hit by a covered van on the Begumganj-Sonaimuri regional highway in Noakhali on Friday afternoon.聽


In Faridpur, two people were killed and at least eight people were injured after a Dhaka-bound Golden Line Paribahan bus collided with a pick-up van at Nagarkanda upazila in Faridpur this afternoon.

The accident took place at about 1:30pm leaving the pickup van driver and helper dead on the spot, said Md Abdullahel Baki, sub-inspector of Bhanga highway police station.

The body of the driver was recovered at about 6:00pm, about four hours and a half after the incident as he was stuck in his seat, he said.

He said that the police were trying to ascertain the identities of the deceased.

Both the vehicles were in police custody and legal action would be taken upon investigation, added the police officer.

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that six people, including a child, were killed and 28 others injured in a road accident in the Panchbari Bazar Chackrampur area at Dinajpur Sadar on Friday.

Kotwali police station officer-in-charge Farid Hossain said that the incident took place when a Ranisankail-bound bus of Nabil Paribahan from Dhaka and a mango-laden truck from Dinajpur rammed into each other on Dinajpur-Phulbari Highway in the area at about 6:30am.

The truck driver and helper of the bus died on the spot and four others succumbed to their injuries after being taken to the hospital, said Farid Hossain.

抖阴精品 correspondent in Pabna, meanwhile, reported that five passengers were killed and two others injured as their car lost control and rammed into a tree at Ishwardi in Pabna on Thursday night.

The deceased are Bijay, 23, Jihad, 14, Shihab, Rabiul Islam and Shishir, 15.

The accident took place in front of Pabna Sugar Mill on the Pabna-Ishwardi highway of the upazila at around 9:30pm on Thursday, said Monirul Islam, sub-inspector of the Ishwardi police station.
