Independent University, Bangladesh and Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday, said a press release.

As part of the agreement, IUB students and graduates will be able to avail course exemptions and admission scholarships when pursuing the CMA programme at the ICMAB.


During the ceremony, which was held at the Trustee Lounge on the IUB campus, the IUB vice-chancellor, Tanweer Hasan, expressed his gratitude towards the ICMAB and encouraged faculty members to nurture this partnership through innovative activities.

The ICMAB vice-president, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, lauded the IUB for its cooperation and emphasised the partnership鈥檚 role in promoting excellence, innovation, and advancement in the accounting profession.

The IUB pro-vice-chancellor, Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan, and several faculty members from the School of Business and Entrepreneurship attended the programme, including Samiul Parvez; Shahriar Kabir; Maqbool Kader Quraishi, head of the Department of Accounting; Nushrat Jahan; Md Safiuddin ACMA; Naveed Adnan; and Md Tanvir Islam.

The ICMAB representatives included Md Kausar Alam FCMA, council member; Professor Md Zakaria Masud FCMA, director of academic affairs division; Mohammad Ruhul Quddus ACMA; and Abdul Maleque, additional director and head of education department.
