The Dhaka South City Corporation in a drive on Saturday fined Tk 75,000 to 16 businesspersons for selling cattle in unauthorised markets in Jhigatala, Khilgaon, and Palashi areas.
The DSCC Region-3 executive magistrate Mohammad Shafiur Rahman and the DSCC executive magistrates Md Moniruzzaman and Md Jagangir Alam conducted the drive, said a press release.聽
A small cattle market in front of Jhigatala鈥檚 Salek Garden kitchen market was evicted from the road and fined Tk 10,000.聽 Beside, three businesspersons were fined Tk 15,000 for selling cattle on a road in the Khilgaon area, and Tk 50,000 was fined to 11 businesspersons for selling cattle at Palashi.
Later, the cattle were sent to the nearby DSCC authorised cattle market.
This year, 11 cattle markets, including one permanent market in Sarulia, have been set up in the DSCC areas.聽
