With the slogan ‘We will protect the national wealth of rawhide’, Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation took various public awareness activities regarding proper skinning and rawhide preservation methods to ensure an uninterrupted supply of salt required for preserving the rawhide of all animals sacrificed during the forthcoming Eid-ul-Azha at a low cost.

In light of the decision taken in the meeting held on June 9, 2024, under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner of Dhaka with the participation of various stakeholders, booths have already been set up in 17 animal markets of Dhaka metropolis and all animal markets of Dhamrai, Nawabganj, Dohar, Keraniganj, and Savar upazilas, said a press release on Saturday.


From there, the work of distributing leaflets and other information dissemination programme is going on.

Meanwhile, the related TVC is being aired on BTV, Channel I, and other private televisions, as well as on the Facebook page of the district administration, upazila administration, and other departmental organisations of the district.

Moreover, following the proposal of BSCIC Dhaka, the Dhaka district administration has already provided training to 350 madrassahs, orphanages’ muhtamims/principals on proper skinning and preservation of rawhide with salt through five training courses.

Moreover, control room services are available for quick resolution of any issues related to rawhide management.
