A man was killed after he was hit by a train while crossing the Mohakhali rail crossing in the capital.
The deceased is Abdul Alim, 55, a resident of Sirajganj district.
Local people said that the accident took place at about 10:00am when the Kamalapur-bound train hit him while he was crossing the rail crossing, leaving him seriously injured.
Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital鈥檚 emergency department where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead at 1:00pm.
Dhaka Railway police sub-inspector Palash confirmed the matter.
He said, 鈥極n information this morning, our force rescued the man in front of Mohakhali railway crossing and took him to the DMCH.鈥�
