Freedom fighter Md Nurul Amin, also an organiser of the War of Independence, died at his residence of Ambarkhana area in Sylhet on Monday.
He was 74.
Nurul Amin, also a member of the national council of ruling Awami League, was a resident of Gowrinagar village under Companiganj in the district, was suffering from old-age complications, said relatives.
State minister for expatriate welfare and overseas employment Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, also Sylhet district AL president, expressed his deep shock at the death of Nurul Amin.聽
聽In a condolence message, Shafiqur Rahman prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul of the freedom fighter and expressed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members.
