A statue made of touchstone, weighing 34 kilograms, was found in a pond while workers were digging in it in Bohupukur area under Sadar upazila in Thakurgaon on Saturday.
The workers said they spotted the statue while digging at a pond in Bohupukur area of Paschim Begunbari Rajapukur Bazar under Begunbari union.
Later, a businessman named Yeasin Ali took the statue from the workers and informed the local police station.
Local UP Chairman Boni Amin said the statue weighed 33.80 kg.
Sadar police station officer-in-charge ABM Firoz Wahid said on information they recovered the statue and kept it under their custody.
