The artificial intelligence-based smart customer assistant chatbot, ‘Bidyut Bandhu’ chatbot, of the Dhaka Power Distribution Company secured 2nd position in the ‘Innovation Showcase’ among all the organisations under the Power Division.

Through the ‘Bidyut Bandhu’ chatbot, one can easily take any electricity related service and file complaints. DPDC customers can use any computer or mobile to access this service from the DPDC website in Bengali and English languages.


A total of 24 innovation initiatives from different departments and organisations under the Power Division were displayed in the event organised by the Power Division on Sunday, said a press release.

Power Division senior secretary Md Habibur Rahman distributed crests and certificates among the winners at DPDC’s Innovation Showcase. DPDC general manager (ICT) Rabiul Hasan received the crest and the certificate on behalf of DPDC.

Nirod Chandra Mandal, chief innovation officer of Power Division, additional secretary of Cabinet Division Md Humayun Kabir and senior officials of the Power Division and its affiliated institutions were present.
