
The department of marketing and international business at North South University hosted a seminar on ‘E-Learning and Smart Education’ on Sunday.
Professor Badrul Khan, a world-renowned speaker, author, and educator, presented his keynote speech while professor Helal Ahammad, dean of the school of business and economics, graced the occasion as chief guest, said a press release.
The session commenced with a brief overview of the keynote speaker by Mahmud Hassan, associate professor and chair of the department of marketing and international business at NSU.
Pioneering e-learning with his 1997 best-selling book ‘Web-Based Instruction’, Badrul Khan holds the honorary title ‘distinguished professor’ from the Egyptian E-Learning University Council. His past leadership roles include founding director of educational technology programmes at George Washington University and the University of Texas at Brownsville. Currently, he is working on e-learning projects at a federal agency in the United States and serves as a consultant to several international e-learning initiatives.
Professor Khan’s session encapsulated a framework for academics on how to adapt e-learning to the university curriculum. He presented his ‘SMART’ framework, which blends a result-oriented approach to sustainable and technology-enabled digital ecosystems.
Professor Helal Ahammad concluded the seminar with a vote of thanks, expressing his gratitude to the keynote speaker, organisers, and attendees for their valuable contributions in making the event a resounding success.
