
Politicians, academics and Islamic scholars, at a seminar on proposed new education curriculum on Friday, said that the government was going to introduce Indian culture through new education curriculum, destroying Bangladeshi culture and heritage.
Jatiya Shikkhak Forum organised the seminar at Dhaka Reporters Unity, where president of the organisation Mohammad Nasir Uddin Khan chaired.
Senior Nayeb-e-amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim said that Awami League government was trying to destroy the education system of the country and they were going to introduce new education curriculum to destroy their own culture and heritage.
Secretary general of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Yunus Ahmad said that the government was trying to keep Islam away from the country’s education system, which would be suicidal for the nation.
He called on all to be united to protest against the proposed curriculum and compel the government to refrain from implementing it.
Former vice-chancellor of Potuakhali Science and Technology University Abdul Latif Masum said that Indian government wanted to keep their education system distant from Islam, so they were interested to introduce new curriculum system in Bangladesh.
Dhaka University physiology department teacher AKM Yunus said that introduction of foreign cultures in Bangladesh would hamper Islamic education there.
‘So, we must resist the initiative,’ he added.
Mohammad Nasir Uddin Khan demanded cancellation of education curriculum-2021 and introduction of new curriculum.
‘We must resist the introduction of foreign cultures in our education,’ said central leader of Islami Andolan Ashraf Ali Akon.
