Two siblings drowned in a pond at Barpara village under Monirampur upazila in Jashore on Saturday.
The deceased are Samia, 4, and Sabid, 3, daughter and son of Shahidul Islam Master of the village.
The two kids went missing when they were playing near the water body on Saturday morning, said ABM Mehedi Masud, officer-in-charge of Monirampur 聽Police Station.
Later their family members, along with local people, searched for them.
Around 2:00pm, they rescued the kids and took them to a nearby health centre where the doctor pronounced them dead, he added.
