International Standard University held an orientation programme for the students of fall 2025 on its Mohakhali campus in Dhaka on Thursday.
Presided over by ISU vice-chancellor Professor Abdul Awal Khan, ISU board of trustees member Tasmiah Rahman was present as special guest at the programme, said a press release.
Professor Abdul Awal Khan said that students must focus on both education and character building to achieve a successful career.
He also urged them to gain knowledge and excel in every field to contribute to their families, nation and the world.
Highlighting ISU’s initiatives, he noted, ‘The university is committed to ensuring a student-friendly environment through modern classrooms, laboratories, qualified teachers and active co-curricular programmes.’
Engineer Tasmiah Rahman welcomed the new students and encouraged them to not only focus on academics but also to understand themselves and the world around them. She said, ‘University life is a new journey where students will learn new things, explore creativity and engage in innovation.’
ISU treasurer Professor HTM Quader Newaz, dean of the faculty of engineering and technology Professor Md Abul Kashem and director of IQAC Professor Md Ekramul Hoque were also present as special guests at the programme.
Convener of the organising committee Professor Mohammad Ali gave a welcome speech at the ceremony.
Mayesha Afia Jarin, lecturer, department of law, and Sk Shoaib Ahmed, lecturer, department of English, anchored the ceremony.
