
Bangladesh Medical University signed a memorandum of understanding with the World Health Organisation at the BMU vice-chancellor office in Dhaka on Wednesday.
On behalf of the BMU, VC of the university Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam and on behalf of the WHO, Dr Ahmed Jamshed Mohammad signed the MoU, said a press release.
As a result of this signing, the World Health Organisation will provide necessary technical support to BMU for infection prevention and control.
The objective of this agreement is to reduce healthcare-associated infections and improve the safety of patients and health workers by implementing a multimodal infection prevention and control
strategy.
The overall objective of this agreement is to strengthen infection prevention and control practices within the Bangladesh Medical University system through technical cooperation with the World Health Organisation to reduce healthcare-associated infections.
The World Health Organisation will provide assistance in providing technical assistance, capacity building and training, monitoring, evaluation, knowledge sharing, technical expertise development and supervision.
