Vice-chancellor of the National University Professor ASM Amanullah at a workshop in Dhaka on Tuesday said that to survive in the competition for employment, science, especially IT education, was essential for students.
The world has become technology-dependent in the development of information technology, especially artificial intelligence. This dependence will increase further in the future,’ he said at the workshop, said a press release.
National Institute of Science and Technology organised the workshop titled Improving NU’s CSE Curricula, Equipping Students with Emerging Skills and Leveraging Digital Platforms to Current Students with SSPs.
‘Therefore, to survive in the competition for employment, science, especially IT education, is essential for students,’ said he said.
Professor Amanullah said that students of colleges affiliated to the National University were lagging behind in the job market due to lack of skills in information technology and foreign languages.
‘To overcome this situation, ICT and English language have been made mandatory for graduation in order to increase the competitiveness of students.’
‘The National University is working to provide modern education to college students in order to meet global needs in line with the times,’ he mentioned.
