
A three-day debate workshop organised by Milestone College Debating Club concluded at the college at Uttara in Dhaka on Saturday.
The students of class IX and XI participated in the workshop, which was inaugurated by Prothom Alo managing editor and writer Anisul Hoque on Thursday, said a press release.
Milestone College principal Mohammad Ziaul Alam, founder and adviser of Milestone College Nurun Nabi, vice-principal for administration Md Masud Alam were present as special guests at the inaugural ceremony of the workshop.
Moderator of Milestone College Debating club associate professor Mohammad Shafayet Uddin welcomed every one the workshop. Lecturer of the Bangla department Sohely Nazir moderated the programme.
More than 600 young debaters participated in the three-day workshop organised at Kamaluddin Auditorium of the permanent campus in Diabari, Uttara.
At the beginning of the workshop, deep respect was paid to those who died in the jet crash.
Mentioning the Milestone jet crash victims, Anisul Hoque said, ‘We must always respect them. We must love them. We must remember them.’
He said, ‘Life will not stop. Life must be moved forward. We must pay tribute to our lost relatives by developing ourselves.’
