
With the aim of further strengthening the cultural ties between Bangladesh and Korea, Korean Cultural Day was celebrated at Dhaka University on Sunday.
DU organisation strategy and leadership department, Institute of Modern Languages and Korea International Cooperation Agency Bangladesh jointly celebrated the day organising various programmes on the faculty of business studies premises, said a press release.
Dhaka University treasurer Professor M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury inaugurated the event as chief guest.
Chairperson of DU organisation strategy and leadership department Md Rashedur Rahman presided over the inaugural ceremony.
KOICA country director in Bangladesh Taeyoung Kim, DU faculty of business studies dean Professor Mahmud Osman Imam, director of the Institute of Modern Languages Professor Mohammad Absar Kamal and member of KOICA Bangladesh Alumni Association Nasima Begum spoke as special guests at thy event.
Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that through such an arrangement, the scope of exchange of culture and tradition of both countries would be further expanded.
Various stalls were set up on the premises of the faculty of business studies on the occasion of the day, showcasing Korean clothing, food, sports and cultural heritage.
