The department of petroleum and mining engineering at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology held a national seminar at the Central Auditorium of CUET in Chattogram on Wednesday.
Md Amin Ul Ahsan, chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, was present as chief guest while CUET vice-chancellor Professor Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan was present as guest of honour at the seminar, said a press release.
Dean of the faculty of mechanical and manufacturing engineering of CUET Professor Kazi Afzalur Rahman, managing director of Eastern Lubricants Benders Engineer Mohammad Shahidul Alam, MD of Padma Oil PLC Md Mofizur Rahman, MD of Meghna Petroleum Limited Md Shahirul Hasan, MD of Eastern Refinery Limited Engineer Md Sharif Hasnat, MD of LP Gas Limited Md Yusuf Hossain Bhuiyan, MD of Jamuna Oil Company Limited Mostafa Qudrat-e-Ilahi and chairman of IEB Chittagong Centre Engineer Manjare Khorshed Alam were present as special guests at the seminar.
The seminar was chaired by Professor Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem, head of the department of petroleum and mining engineering.
The seminar was organised to create industry-academia collaboration by making companies interested in hiring PME graduates. Through these, students will get the opportunity to gain practical experience and students will have the opportunity to directly communicate with various companies, added the press release.
