
Southeast University has organised an event titled July Remembrance 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall of the university in Dhaka.
The event featured a discussion and documentary screening, highlighting the sacrifices of martyrs Abu Sayed, Mugdha, and four other Southeast University martyrs, said a press release on Sunday.
Speakers emphasised the significance of the movement and the pioneering role students played.
The discussion, presided over by Southeast University vice-chancellor Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, featured Farzana Munmun, aunt of martyr Farhan Fayyaz, as a special guest .
Professor M Mofazzal Hossain, pro-VC of the University, delivered a special address at the event.
The programme commenced with the national anthem, followed by the screening of a documentary on the July uprising.
Professor Farhana Helal Mahtab, dean of the school of arts and social sciences at Southeast University and convener of the event implementation committee, delivered the introductory remarks.
Other speakers included Professor Md Sirajul Islam, dean of Southeast business school, and retired major general Md Anwarul Islam, registrar of the university.
During the discussion segment, Southeast University faculty and students who participated in the July uprising shared their reminiscences.
