
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will inaugurate the National University July Martyred Memorial Scholarship programme on Tuesday.
He will distribute the cheques of the NU scholarship at his office in Dhaka’s Tejgaon area, said a NU press release on Monday.
On Sunday, National University announced ‘July Martyred Memorial Scholarship’ for the students of different colleges under the university.
The scholarship will be offered in memory of the martyrs of anti-discrimination students’ movement in July and August last year, according to an office order of the university.
The university has decided to introduce the ‘July Martyred Memorial Scholarship-NU’ to make the martyrs as ‘unforgettable’ and inspire the students with patriotism by highlighting their sacrifice.
Professor Yunus will also inaugurate the 36-day long July memorial programmes from July 1 to August 5, marking the July uprising anniversary, on the same day.
