The Office of External Affairs of North South University in collaboration with the embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Dhaka hosted Kosovo Film Day 2025, commemorating the anniversary of Kosovo’s Liberation Day, at the NSU in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The event was graced by Lulzim PLLANA, ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Bangladesh, as guest of honour, said a press release on Thursday.
Several other diplomats and delegates from various embassies, ministries and universities attended, lending international stature to the celebration.
Abdur Rob Khan, NSU treasurer and pro-vice-chancellor (in charge), inaugurated the event with welcome remarks, emphasising the value of cultural exchange in global education.
The festival featured the screening of three internationally acclaimed Kosovan films that reflect the country’s journey, resilience and cultural identity — Blerta Basholli-directed film ‘Hive’, Ismet Sijarina-directed ‘Cold November’ and Luan Kryeziu-directed ‘The Hero’.
The event commenced with an opening session followed by back-to-back screenings. NSU students, film enthusiasts and international guests filled the auditorium throughout the day.
Ambassador PLLANA expressed gratitude for NSU’s partnership and emphasised the importance of cultural diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations, noting that cinema provide a compelling medium for countries to share their narratives with the world.
Kosovo Film Day 2025 not only offered students an opportunity to engage with global cinema but also served as a meaningful platform for celebrating international friendship and dialogue through the arts.
