
A meeting on university rankings was held at Bangladesh Medical University’s Shaheed Dr Milton Hall on Tuesday.
BMU vice-chancellor Professor Md Shahinul Alam presided over the meeting, said a press release.
Professor Shahinul emphasised that the university could progress significantly through collaborative efforts from all stakeholders.
Highlighting BMU’s achievements, he noted that the university had made remarkable strides in global rankings, with nearly 1,000 research publications in indexed journals over the past five years.
‘BMU boasts internationally recognised researchers and strong performance in research citations, proving our potential to further improve rankings,’ he said.
The keynote address on university rankings was presented by Fariha Hasin, associate professor of the department of public health and informatics and member secretary of the university ranking committee.
In the meeting, BMU’s pro-vice-chancellors Professor Md Abul Kalam Azad (administration), Professor Md Mujibur Rahman Hawlader (research and development), treasurer Professor Nahreen Akhtar, and other members of the ranking committee expressed their opinions.
