
Bangladesh Maritime University held the orientation of new students for the 2024-2025 academic sessions at Shahid Moazzem Hall of BN College of Mirpur in Dhaka on Sunday.
The orientation was attended by the university’s 9th batch of bachelor of science in oceanography, 8th batch of BSc in naval architecture and offshore engineering, 7th batch of bachelor of business administration in port management and logistics, 7th batch of bachelor of laws in maritime law and 6th batch of BSc in fisheries students, said a press release.Â
Vice-chancellor of the university Rear Admiral Ashraful Hoq Chowdhury, graced the occasion as chief guest.
The guardians of new students, treasurer, registrar, deans of faculties, academic adviser, senior professors, faculty members, directors, officers and employees were also present at the event.
Registrar of the university Commodore Mohammad Ehsanullah Khan delivered the welcome speech at the event.
The university’s cultural club performed the national anthem, a video documentary on the university was screened, different lecture sessions on providing guidance on rules and regulations, security, examination rules, financial matters, use of educational software, online library access and various other topics arranged at the orientation ceremony.
At the ceremony the new students expressed joy and deep excitement for getting the opportunity to enrol in the specialised university, added the press release.
