
The result of a research on trend in tobacco use in Bangladesh was published at the Shaheed Dr Milton Hall of Bangladesh Medical University in Dhaka on Wednesday.
It was informed at the programme that although the rate of tobacco use in Bangladesh had decreased, achieving the target set by the World Health Organisation by 2030 still remained a challenge, said a press release.
Presided over by the BMU pro-vice-chancellor for research and development, Professor Dr Md Mujibur Rahman Howlader, additional secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Sheikh Momena Moni, attended as chief guest while joint secretary of the Department of Health Services Md Mamunur Rashid attended as special guest at the event.
