
Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology and SAE University College, Australia signed a credit transfer arrangement agreement virtually on Thursday.
The agreement was signed from the meeting rooms of both institutions, moderated jointly by Abdullah Al Masud, adviser, SMUCT, and Jenna Schiller, head of education partnerships, SAE.
Luke McMillan, general manager, SAE University College, and Professor Md Shah-E-Alam, Shanto-Mariam University vice-chancellor, signed the agreement and gave their valuable speeches.
This collaboration will enable SMUCT students to transfer up to 70 credits toward SAE University College’s computer science programme.
During the event, speakers from both institutions highlighted their strengths and expressed enthusiasm for continued collaboration.
Distinguished attendees representing SAE University College included Magali McDuffie, manager, education partnerships, SAE, Jahir Uddin, regional director, Bangladesh, Navitas, Mustafizur Rahman, senior director, Austrade, Australian high commission in Dhaka.
Ahsanul Kabir, chairman of Shanto-Mariam Foundation and Sundarban Courier Service, and a member of the board of trustees, SMUCT, spoke about the university’s founding vision and its status as the only design and creative technology-focused university in the region.
Other key attendees from SMUCT included Professor Mohammad Mubarak Hossain, dean, faculty of engineering and technology, Par Moshiur Rahman, registrar, Shakeel Hossain, secretary, board of trustees, and Nasim Al Rashid, deputy registrar.
Md Nazrul Islam, secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the programme as an especial guest.
