
Stamford University Bangladesh organised an orientation programme for the newly enrolled students of the 83rd batch in the summer 2024 semester on November 18 at 10:30am in the SUB basketball playground, says a press release.
Fatinaaz Feroz, chairman of the Board of Trustees at SUB, attended the programme as chief guest, which was presided over by vice chancellor Professor Moniruzzaman.
Professor Sayma Arju, the chairman of the English Department, delivered a welcome speech on the programme, while five newly admitted students from various departments expressed their opinions.
In her address as the chief guest, Fatinaaz Feroze articulated that students must confront many challenges in pursuit of sustainable transformation in the contemporary world. Simultaneously, they have to play a pivotal role in the development, innovation, and exploration of Bangladesh.
Vice-chancellor Professor Moniruzzaman asserted that the primary objective of university education is to equip students with the comprehensive knowledge, cultural awareness, and communication proficiencies that will empower them to thrive in today鈥檚 competitive world.
Pro-vice-chancellor Professor Md Younus Mia remarked that the university鈥檚 reputation will be enhanced if new students dedicate themselves to the nation鈥檚 advancement after graduation.
Farhanaaz Feroze, member of BoT; Emeritus Professor M Feroze Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Mohammad Jeaul Hasan, Professor Jamal Uddin, dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Professor Quazi Abdul Mannan, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Professor BC Basak, dean of the Faculty of Engineering, proctor Mrityunjoy Acharjee and registrar Abdul Matin also spoke in the orientation programme.
The second part of the orientation programme consisted of a cultural programme and concert with the participation of students. The chairman of various departments, teachers, students, officers and employees participated in the programme.
