Palli Sanchay Bank on Thursday held a yard meeting at Bakshimail Union of Mohanpur Upazila under Rajshahi district, with participation of members from Bakshimail Village Development Samity and Bakshimail West Village Development Samity, said a press release.
Palli Sanchay Bank is a specialised financial institution dedicated to the socio-economic development of rural marginalised communities, especially women. It operates on a cooperative-based system across every union of every upazila in the country.
Each cooperative consists of 60 members, 60 per cent of whom are women. Through the bank鈥檚 microcredit programme, many members have become self-reliant.
One of the bank鈥檚 impactful initiatives is the yard meeting, where cooperative members gather to share their experiences, challenges and future plans.
Palli Sanchay Bank managing director Salma Banu was present as chief guest at the yard meeting.
Also present were general manager ABM Zahid Hossain, along with other senior officials and local dignitaries.
During the meeting, the managing director exchanged views with the members, listened to their experiences and challenges and provided valuable guidance regarding future plans. She later distributed loans among the cooperative members.
