National Bank PLC on Thursday held its 42nd annual general meeting at a convention centre in the capital, said a press release.
Chairman and sponsor director Abdul Awal Mintoo presided over the meeting.
Among others, vice-chairman and sponsor director Moazzam Hossain, executive committee chairman and independent director Muklesur Rahman, audit committee chairman and independent director Md Abdus Satter Sarkar, independent directors Md Zulkar Nayn, Melita Mehjabeen and managing director Adil Chowdhury were present in the AGM.
Scheduled agenda items, including financial statements for the year ending 2024 and the appointment of auditors, were approved at the meeting conducted by company secretary and senior vice-president Md Kaiser Rashid.
Abdul Awal Mintoo said in his speech that although many incidents had happened in the past at National Bank, no irregularities or corruption would be tolerated in the future.
All members of the board of directors and the management team are making their utmost efforts to restore the bank鈥檚 reputation and position, he said.
He also assured all shareholders that the overall situation and the major financial indicators of the bank would improve significantly compared to the present in the coming year.
