Chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus held a brief one-on-one meeting with BNP chair and former prime minister Khaleda Zia on Friday.

Khaleda Zia attended the Armed Forces Day event at Senakunja in the capital on Friday afternoon.


According to BNP leaders, the chief adviser spoke聽 with the BNP chair in private for a few minutes before the programme began.

Several senior BNP figures said that the meeting lasted around five minutes.

BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury confirmed the meeting, saying that no one else was present.

He told 抖阴精品 that the BNP chair had not yet spoken with the party leaders about what was discussed with Professor Yunus.

Meanwhile, the chief adviser鈥檚 press wing in a statement said that Professor Yunus and Khaleda Zia exchanged greetings on the sidelines of the Armed Forces Day event held at the Dhaka Cantonment.

During the interaction, the chief adviser inquired about the former prime minister鈥檚 health condition and wished her a quick recovery, said the statement.

Khaleda Zia thanked the chief adviser and asked about the health of his wife, Afrozi Yunus, offering her good wishes as well.

Khaleda Zia鈥檚 younger daughter-in-law, Syeda Sharmila Rahman, was present during the exchange, the statement said.
