Leaders and activists of Islami Andolan Bangladesh on Saturday started gathering at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka to attend their pre-announced grand rally to press home their three-point demand, including reforms, trial and proportionate representation system election.

The first session of the grand rally formally began by reciting from the Quran at about 10:00am.


Several hundred leaders and activists of the party from Dhaka and its neighbouring districts began gathering at the venue on early Saturday.

The crowd was increasing gradually as huge number of the party leaders and activists in groups were joining the rally with small processions from the morning.

The three-point demand included holding reforms in various sectors, holding trials of the fascists and holding next general election in proportionate representation system.

The main session of the rally will start at 2:00pm. IAB ameer Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim will chair the main session.

The secretary general of the party Yunus Ahmed and senior leaders of the party would address the rally, said a press release on Friday.
