A leader of the Bangladesh Juba Odhikar Parishad went missing after he was picked up from his home in Rajshahi city on Thursday morning allegedly by a group of plainclothes men identifying themselves as members of the Criminal Investigation Department.

Shyamoli Khatun, wife of KH Rasel, president of Juba Odhikar Parishad’s Rajshahi district unit, told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that a group of 7–8 people identifying themselves as members of the Criminal Investigation Department picked up her husband in a microbus from their house under the Motihar police in Rajshahi city at about 6:30am on Thursday.

Shyamoli said that they rushed to the CID office in Rajshahi and the Motihar police station but both denied picking up her husband.

‘We are very tense. Two days have already been passed but we don’t know where Rasel is,’ she added.

Meanwhile, Abu Hanif, a member of Gana Odhikar Parishad central committee, said that they feared law enforcers had picked up Rasel as he had recently written about India’s aggression against Bangladesh on the social media.

Contacted, Md Abdul Jalil, special superintendent of police, CID, Rajshahi, told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that they had not picked anyone on Thursday.
