
Mastercard hosted an inspiring event, Mastering Dreams – Conquering Heights – to celebrate the success of the Sultana’s Dream Unbound – First Women’s Winter Expedition.
Inspired by Begum Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain’s visionary literary work Sultana’s Dream, the ground-breaking summit mission was supported by Mastercard, organised by Obhijatri, endorsed by UNESCO, and held in association with the liberation war museum, said a press release.
The event was honoured by the presence of chief guest Nurun Nahar, deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank, and special guest Ghanshyam Bhandari, ambassador of Nepal in Bangladesh.
It was attended by distinguished guests, including Susan Vize, head of office and country representative to UNESCO Dhaka, Mofidul Hoque, trustee of liberation war museum, Syed Mohammad Kamal, country manager, Mastercard along with senior bankers, representatives from the liberation war museum, over 200 female bankers and corporate leaders.
The expedition saw five Bangladeshi women mountaineers, led by Nishat Mazumder, the first Bangladeshi woman to conquer Mount Everest, along with Yasmin Lisa, Arpita Debnath, Mousumi Aktar Ap, Tahura Sultana Rekha who make history by conquering five peaks in Nepal’s Langtang region.
