Saudi Arabia has announced that Sunday, March 30, 2025, will be the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, after the Shawwal crescent moon was sighted on Saturday evening, reports Gulf News.

According to the report, the moon-sighting committee convened after Maghrib prayers and verified the sighting of the new moon, marking the end of Ramadan after 29 days of fasting. This aligns with the Islamic tradition of determining the start of a new month through lunar observation,.


Eid prayers will be held early Sunday morning at more than 15,948 mosques and 3,939 open-air prayer grounds across all regions of the country, as families gather to observe one of Islam鈥檚 most joyous and spiritually significant occasions, the report added.
