Poet and recitation artiste Farzana Karim held a solo poetry recitation event of her self-penned poems titled Jale Bhasa Padya at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samiti on Bailey Road in Dhaka on Friday.

She read her 18 poems at the event, including ‘Bakul’, ‘Shesh Prahar’, ‘Ami Ki Tabe Janmandha Chhilam’, ‘Rudmilar Chithi’, ‘Sei Barita’,


‘Ektuku Chhoya Nay, Sabtuku Choya Chai’, ‘Shiyara Rabindranath’, and ‘Dure Kothao’.

Farzana Karim told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that she had almost performed all the districts in the country, mentioning, ‘I used to perform recitations throughout the entire year both at home and abroad.’ 

‘I performed in Chattogram District Shilpakala Academy and Jhenaidah in the past month,’ she added, mentioning that she would perform in a solo recitation event in Jashore in February.

The poet’s literary works include Pakhiprithibee, Na Bala Katha, Bichchhina Kabitara, Jalkona, Jale Bhasa Padya and Dure Kothao.

Farzana Karim was awarded the Mahasweta Devi Literary Award from Kolkata, India in 2017.
