The winners of the Bangla Academy Literary Award 2024 were announced on Thursday.
Ten litterateurs have been announced as the winners of the prestigious award for their contribution to different branches of Bengali literature, said a press release signed by Bangla Academy director general Mohammad Azam.
The winners are Masud Khan in poetry category, Selim Morshed in fiction, Shuvashis Sinha in drama and dramatic literature, Salimullah Khan in essay / prose, Faruk Nawaz in children鈥檚 literature, GH Habib in translation, Muhammad Shahjahan Mian in research, Rezaur Rahman in science, Muhammad Hannan in the War of Independence and Syed Jamil Ahmed in folklore.
The awards will be handed over to the winners at the inaugural ceremony of Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2025.
Introduced in 1960, the Bangla Academy Literary Award is annually awarded to individuals for their contribution to Bangla literature in different categories.
